"After read the article above, I think that pure mathematics and mathematics
education are different. In general, pure mathematics and mathematics education
are not different. But in fact, both of them are really different. Pure
mathematics learn about theorem of
calculus, algebra trigonometry,
plane geometry, the
geometry of space, etc more specific and detail. Although
mathematics education is also learn theorem about it, but mathematics
education also learn about method to teach and to facilitate the students in
the teaching and learning process. And pure mathematics don’t learn about this
method.
Remember that that one of the nature of all aspects of
teaching and learning of math is the nature of school math. And in the school
mathematics, math is an activity. Mathematics is activity to search of pattern and relationship, problem solving
activity, an investigation activity, and means of communication. School mathematics
not about formal math, axiomatic math, and pure math that suitable for
university level. It is mathematics education."
